How to use
- Here are some tips that will give you optimum results while using Dog Rocks:
- Your pack will be accompanied by instructions printed on the back of the bag and a diary/calendar reminder sticker inside to help you remember when to change your Dog Rocks. Wash the Dog Rocks thoroughly under running water to remove any dust.
- Place your entire pack of Dog Rocks in your dog's water bowl, if you have more than one water bowl, you will need another whole pack of Dog Rocks, each water supply should have one entire pack of Dog Rocks in it.
- Make sure the ratio of rocks to water is correct - 200g (1 bag) to 2 litres of water, more water than this requires more rocks as the effect is diluted.
- Make sure the Dog Rocks are completely covered with water every night, leaving them half covered for long periods of time can dilute the effect.
- Give the Dog Rocks a chance to do their job, it is best to top the water up at night so they can work overnight.
- Dog Rocks need replacing every 2 months as at that time they have absorbed all the minerals and elements that they can hold.
- A diet rich in red meat causes too many nitrates to pass in his urine, a high quality dry food works best with Dog Rocks.
- Dog Rocks are not uniform size and differ from pack to pack in content because they are entirely natural. The weight of each pack is however the same and therefore the efficacy is consistent.
- If your dog is drinking from other water sources eg puddles, rivers, lakes, the toilet!, at another house etc the effect will be diluted, the main drinking source has to be his water bowl with the Dog Rocks in (don't forget both inside and outside water bowls).
- Dog Rocks will not bring a dead lawn back to life, a dead lawn needs reseeding but they will prevent urine burns from happening to live grass. You will see changes within 5 weeks of starting to use the product.
- You may find that in times of extremely sunny weather and high temperatures your dog will drink more water. In these circumstances you may find that you will have to “up” your dosage of Dog Rocks and in some cases even double it. Dog Rocks are not an exact science and every dog is different but once you have figured out what works for you, there is no reason for any more burn patches on your lawn as long as directions for use are adhered to.
- If you fertilize your lawn use the correct concentration as stated by the manufacturer, too strong a concentration will burn your lawn and you will think the Dog Rocks aren't doing their job properly.
- Don't forget if another is another dog is visiting and not on Dog Rocks you'll get burn patches.
These have been very successful, not only do we require more, we have told friends who have asked me to order for them!
